Operation Smile

Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft and one in ten of those children will die before their first birthday. Even if these children survive they are often unable to speak, eat, socialize, or smile. Each child deserves access to the proper surgical care that could alleviate these issues. This organization is set up to give students an opportunity for leadership and carry out service to help those in need. The organization is also important for educating members and the general public about these issues. Through fundraising the organization hopes to raise money to provide surgeries for these children in need.

 

This is the UC Berkeley branch of the Operation Smile organization. If you are a UC Berkeley Student then please get involved with this organization on campus, and even if you are not a student you can get involved in this movement. Visit our parent organization Operation Smile and get involved!
